About The Owner
Owner Tricia Morin has been in the Home Building business for 35 years building custom homes in Southern New Hampshire. Tricia began her career as an accountant but felt the calling of the housing industry. Apprenticing in the field for eight years before choosing her niche as a fine finish carpenter specializing in building ornate custom staircases, her areas of knowledge include residential construction issues, residential building codes, life/safety regulation, accounting, real estate conveyancing and non-profit administration. She is currently the President/Owner of Tarkka Homes, Inc., a custom home builder based in Hopkinton, NH, and servicing southern New Hampshire since 1990. She was a partner in The Abacus Group, a lobbying firm specializing in government relation services on behalf of the residential construction industry. Her focus on consumer protection and housing affordability for both builders and homeowners has made Tricia an expert on these matters and often sought for consultation. She has dedicated her adult career of public service to non-profit organizations which include serving as the Builder representative to the Board of Directors for a five-year term at NH Housing (NHH) as appointed by NH Governor Sununu.
Tricia is a prime advocate on builder issues and continues to be a leader on balanced regulation of the housing industry. Among her achievements, she actively took part in the drafting and passage of enabling legislation for Accessory Dwelling Units and has testified before the New Hampshire Legislature and the New Hampshire Congressional delegation in Washington DC. Tricia is a past VP/Treasurer of the NH Home Builders Association (NHHBA) and past-President of the Seacoast Home Builders & Remodelers Association. She was recognized as the NHHBA Builder of the Year and was also the recipient of the prestigious President’s Award from the Seacoast REALTOR’s Association for her work as an educator on real estate ethics and her community service. She developed a fundraising program to financially aid those in need with emergency housing repairs, a program that has continued to help those in need since its inception in 1997.
